
AVIA GREENE-VANBUREN
Avia Greene-VanBuren, MA, is an educator, mentor, activist and philanthropist, who is committed to serving in a capacity that uplifts the urban community. She is an Angeleno and graduate of Howard University. Mrs. Greene-VanBuren has a Master’s Degree in Education from Pepperdine University and she is in pursuit of her Administration Credential.
She has over 25 years of experience of serving learners of all ages. Currently, she is the Curriculum and Instructional Coordinator at Wilder’s Preparatory Academy Charter School, as well as the 5th grade lead teacher. Mrs. Greene-VanBuren also devotes her time as a mentor to new teachers for the Los Angeles County Office of Education’s Teacher Induction Program. She is a Leadership Consultant of the Adventurer and Pathfinder Clubs (ages 4-17) at her church.
Mrs. Greene-VanBuren loves her people and is an advocate of cultural awareness.
Over the years, she has affirmed her belief that “everyone desiresgreatness!” In order to achieve this greatness, she creates opportunities to call out the seeds of greatness in others and stir up their innate talents and abilities. Through the tools of expansion and exposure, she has led many to recognizing and achieving the greatness that is desired and possessed. At her leisure she is focused on family and serving her God. For it is through God that ALL things are possible.
